When using the washing machine to clean your car mats make sure you use a low tumble cycle to prevent the mat from getting beaten around too much and wash them either on their own or with similar items like old towels rags and household floor rugs. Whether or not you should wash them at home is a different story and depends on the size of your washing machine. However be sure not to spray them on the ground as the pressure could cause tears on the reverse of the mats if enough friction is generated between them and the sidewalk or driveway. You can also use a cleaner designed for car mats available in many auto shops or create your own.

Unless you have some huge machine i don t see how they will fin in the machine. A steam cleaning vacuum or power washer often at car washes work or place the mats in the washing machine with regular detergent and stain remover. You may be able to put them in the dryer afterward but you could also let them air dry. You could damage both the mats and your washer.

Apply spray stain remover first. Wash with care to keep your rug looking like new. No i wouldn t do that. Wash with a steam cleaner power wash or washing machine.

I once put a air filter housing into a dish washer and yes it did clean it up but it took about 6 washes to get the grease oil residue out o. Omg dont do it unless you are really sure. Vacuum the mats again. I clean mine when i go to the sellf serve car wash spray them with soap and then rinse with the water sprayer dry them outside in the sun. You can also put car floor mats in your washing machine using your regular detergent. My advice would be if you do then run washer on hot with some boi powder in after with no clothes in to give it a good clean.

Like indoor rugs you can also wash car floor mats in the washer. Not only can crumbled rug backing come off in the laundry and damage your washing machine a rug with no backing will slip and slide.
